Horseshoe Bend: Page, Arizona

Horseshoe Bend

If you find yourself near Page, in Northern Arizona then you must take this short hike.  This is a definite must see.  The hike begins 4 miles south of Page on Hwy 89.  The trail head is right off the highway and is 3/4 mile hike to an incredible overlook of the Colorado River. The only down side to this hike is that you are walking in soft sand for most of the hike.  But that is not a reason to miss the view.  The trail takes you to the edge of an exposed cliff where the Colorado river 500 feet  below makes a horseshoe shaped bend.  Get as close to the edge or stay as far back as you like, but take time to enjoy the amazing view.
Length: 1 1/2 miles- out and back
Elevation Gain: Minimal- Steep hill to start, but short
Kids:  All Ages, CAUTION- Exposed edges
Hike Time: 30 minutes
Fee: Free :)
Directions: 4 Miles South of Page on Hwy 89. Signed Trailhead and Parking area just off the Hwy
